TPJ (Tiruchirappalli Junction Railway Station) is a railway junction in Tiruchirappalli, Tamil Nadu. It is the administrative centre for the Southern Railway zone’s Tiruchirappalli railway division. TPJ is the station code for official purposes. This Tiruchirappalli Junction serves roughly 15,000 passengers every day. TPJ is the only diesel–electric multiple unit (DEMU) shed in the southern railway system. Tiruchirappalli Junction is Tamil Nadu’s second busiest railway station and one of India’s busiest railway stations. The Confederation of Indian Industries (CII) gave the Station a ‘GOLD[3]’ (72 Points) rating in March 2020 for executing a variety of programmes.
